Coolant temperature kits

Coolant Temperature Kits

Kits using the Black Acietal hose adapter provide 2 ports for sensors.

  • 1 x 1/8 NPT port of th the temperature sensor
  • M5 port for the coolant level sensing screw.

Otheer Coolant temperature sensors are brass plugs which fit in a suitable port in the engine.

    Oil Temperature Kits

Oil temperature kits use a macined plug to replace the sump (oil pan) drain plug. Theyare available in differents sizes:

    • M12x1.25
    • M12x1.5
    • M14x1.5
    • M16x1.25
    • M16x1.5
    • M18x1.5
    • 3/8 BSP
    • 1/2 BSP (Brass)

      Oil Pressure Kits

Oil temperature kits use a macined plug to replace the sump (oil pan) drain plug. Theyare available in differents sizes:

      • M12x1.25
      • M12x1.5
      • M14x1.5
      • M16x1.25
      • M16x1.5
      • M18x1.5

      • 1/2 BSP (Brass)

        EGT KITS

        EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) Kits

All EGT kits use the same EGT probe, TP100.

In most cases the Exhaust manifold must be drilled and tapped with a  1/8 NPT thread in which case there is no ‘EGT Kit’ as only the probe is sold with the system. There is an instruction to do this here.

When an adapter is supplied, this usually screws into an OEM port n the manifold or downpipe.

The other option is to weld a plug to the exhast pipe and screw the probe in.

        • M12x1.25
        • M12x1.5
        • M14x1.5
        • M16x1.25
        • M16x1.5
        • M18x1.5
        • 3/8 BSP
        • 1/2 BSP (Brass)

          BOOST KITS

          BOOST KITS

Older engines have  fixed-vane turbochargers and use a wastegate actuator which is operated by pressure from the manifold. Here you can tap into the tube with suitable kit or screw it directly into the engine.

Engines with VNT (VGT / TGV) Turbochargers usually use a vacuum or electronic actuator so there may not be a tube to Tee into. In this case you use an In-Pipe type adapter as in Boost Kit D.

          Fitting Conciderations:

          • Direct screw in – Cheapers as it uses the sensor only, Only one joint, very reliable, but sensor gets hot on the engine.
          • In Tube, Cheaper than other kits, sensor hangs on the boost pipe.
          • Body Mounted – Most expensive, most joints, but it moves the sensor away from the hot engine and prevents damage

            OUTPUT KITS

            OUTPUT KITS – Coming soon

We will soon have an output driver unit to make using the Madman Units’s outputs painless and easy.

The Unit will allow upto 3 output relay switches, each with their own supply and fuse as needed.
